Meet Yuriria Morales-Mangone

Economic Development New Mexico Tribal Liaison and Global Partnerships & Economic Transition Representative Yuriria Morales-Mangone is a bilingual and bicultural economic development professional with more than 20 years of experience in international affairs, strategic partnerships, community engagement, and economic development.

Originally from Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, and now based in New Mexico, Yuri has built a career focused on connecting communities, fostering collaboration, and advancing sustainable economic opportunities across local and global markets, she holds a BA in international affairs from Universidad Internacional (UNINTER) and an MPA from The University of New Mexico, graduating with honors.

In her role as Tribal Liaison, Yuri works to strengthen relationships between Tribal Nations, Pueblos, and the State of New Mexico by supporting respectful government-to-government engagement and identifying opportunities for economic growth, infrastructure development, site readiness, workforce initiatives, and long-term community partnerships. Her work is rooted in relationship-building, cultural understanding, and a commitment to supporting Tribal priorities through collaborative and inclusive economic development efforts.

Yuri’s position:

Yuri currently serves as the Global Partnerships, Economic Transitions Representative, and Tribal Liaison for Economic Development New Mexico. In this role, she supports initiatives that strengthen international collaboration, advance economic development opportunities, support community and workforce transitions, and foster meaningful relationships with Tribal nations across New Mexico. Her work focuses on building strategic partnerships, supporting business and community growth, facilitating cross-sector collaboration, and connecting stakeholders with state, federal, and international resources that promote long-term economic resilience and inclusive growth.
